We're all affected by noise, cars lorries, noisy neighbours, kids and animals. But for a lot of the time we live with this noise because its in the background. But it's when the noise becomes more than the background it's when it intrudes into our lives and affects us. This last week I've been living with a neighbour who has been having work done to his house, what the work is I don't know because sadly we don't speak much it's that nod that you do when you see each other. We've lived next door for nearly eleven years now his wife I often spoke to and we got on well chatting over the fence or whenever we saw each other, but her husband never really spoke to me I don't know why but they you have it. Well over this last year there were changes in the house and sadly his wife left and things changed.
Well we still didn't speak and the this last week the noise hit us suddenly on Monday bang bang bang bang drill drill drill hammer hammer hammer all day long from about 08:30 in the morning until 17:00 in the afternoon there didn't seem to be any breaks and it just drove Chris and me mad. Now Chris is affe ted by chronic fatigue and this noise makes things worse for him. Normally Chris needs a good nights sleep of about ten or s hours but that's not happening and I can see him getting more and more tired, but the thing is that I know when he's really tired he can have a petit mal fit which is like an absence you look at the poor boy and its like the lights are on bit no one is in. He has no memory of this absence and is totally exhausted and needs to sleep but thankfully this hasn't happened and he's just more tired than normal.
All I ask is that a person understands how this kind of noise can affect you, now my neighbour on the other side had a fire in his house and literally had to have the house totally gutted, BUT and this is the really important but he came to us knocked on the door and told me about the work that was going to be done he apologised and gave us a bottle a whiskey by way of apology. Isn't this how we should act around each other with curtesy, I'm not bothered about the whiskey which was a lovely gesture it was the fact he came and explained to us what was going on.So now it's Sunday and I wait worried that the Noise will return how will it affect my garden animals and insects the atmosphere of my garden. Because of the noise I wasn't able to concentrate on any kind of design work even making anything seemed to be beyond me. Now if I was affected this way how were my poor garden Faeries affected all I can say is please let them all be safe and secure. With all that work going on they'll be all sorts of pieces, tiny pieces of course, of iron in there garden next door now if he Faeries go I to there they may be hurt by the iron which I know is poisonous to them. Just think how awful all ths could be all I want is them to be safe and sound. So I wait for the new week, I've worked hard on some designs and want to work on them in the coming week. It's funny yesterday I started a new file on my laptop and started to draw and when I finished it turns out there are 158 different ideas to try out. Now which should I try out first for once I seem spoilt for choice.
Signing off now please be safe and sound I'd like it for you all to be there for my next ramble.
Signing off now for a stogie
